Expectations

“The actual experience exceeds all expectations and is something that’s hard to put to words… It sort of reduces things to a size that you think everything is manageable…. All these things that may seem big and impossible … We can do this. Peace on Earth – No problem. It gives people that type of energy … that type of power, and I have experienced that.”

-Anousheh Ansari, first female Space Tourist

No matter how we work together, I want you to walk away with the feeling Ansari describes above. I want you to ask yourself deep questions, overcome challenges with novel approaches, and feel empowered to take on the world (metaphorically of course).

Whether it’s a new website, a new project, or a recurring retainer… my hope is that you not only get value from the agreed upon deliverables. Good work takes time so if you’re looking to be an overnight success, that’s going to be a pretty big investment!

Hours: Because I work most Saturdays, I do not take meetings on Sundays (family day) or Mondays (admin day). You can book a time on my calendar here: https://calendly.com/dodgeashley/

Investment: At this time, I only work with individuals that are willing and able to invest in working together. What I find is that the people that cannot commit financially also struggle to find time to get projects completed, get distracted with scope creep (free work for me), or end up going another direction a year later and both our time is wasted.

Assumptions: Everyone approaches every project with a set of assumptions. Let’s be sure to consider assumptions about:

  1. Services regarding the nature, quality, and quantity of services to be provided, including any specifications or standards. If we scoped out a website project, any additional design work or updates to digital presence on social media, newsletters, email setup, domain hosting/management, Google Search or Business, etc. will be an additional fee unless stated in the scope of work.

  2. Timelines and Deadlines for delivery, completion, or performance of services can change. Please put all requests in writing and reference the project document as well as meeting notes. I welcome quick 15 minute meetings to make sure we are on the same page should any confusion arise.

  3. Roles and Responsibilities we each have should be clearly assigned as well as any dependencies on third parties or external factors. Ex. Virtual assistants, colleagues,

  4. Payment Terms and Conditions including amounts, methods, and schedules are included in the project document. I only accept payment through Stripe via invoice or the non-refundable hourly bookings: https://calendly.com/dodgeashley/60-minute-consultation

  5. Regulatory Compliance with relevant laws, regulations, or industry standards will be discussed. Please be sure to note any certifications or licenses you maintain and any obligations you have. Ex. Licensed Insurance Brokers have to be mindful of insurance regulations, ethical standards, privacy regulations, anti-money laundering regulations, consumer protection laws (Re: advertising, sales practices, disclosure of information, and complaints), and financial regulations (accounting, record-keeping, and handling of client funds). It is the responsibility of the client to disclose these hurdles and carefully review any changes.

  6. Performance expected, desired results, and benchmarks or other criteria used to evaluate performance

  7. Force Majeure aka how unforeseen events may impact this

  8. Termination conditions including notice periods or penalties associated with termination (aka Kill Fee)

  9. Confidentiality of information exchanged or any restrictions of note including industry standards

Any disputes (including mediation, arbitration, or litigation) will be resolved in the State of Colorado where Some Startup in Colorado, LLC is registered. Every attempt will be made to reach an amicable solution and prevent any misunderstanding, error or injury.

Each Project or Monthly Retainer Includes:

  • A project management document available to track progress and remaining items

  • Opportunity to discuss SEO, design, analytics, strategy, and work to be done

  • Simple agendas sent the day before to optimize time together and stay on point but can be revised as needed

  • Demonstrations and walk through videos (when requested)

  • One free hour for each referral that also does a project or monthly retainer as a thank you (available to redeem within the following 6 months)

Does NOT Include:

  • Third party subscriptions (Ex. Canva, Google Workspace, Calendly, Squarespace, Adobe, etc.)

  • Highly technical support outside of what has been discussed and agreed to in writing. I am not a virtual assistant, photographer, videographer, cyber security expert, book keeper, accountant, attorney, operations manager, human resources expert, PR manager, etc. but I DO know plenty of those to recommend!

  • Last minute fire drills. Each retainer comes with meetings booked no less than 48 hours in advance out of curtesy to ALL my clients.

FAQs

  • I‘ve been offered quite a few odd trades. Unfortunately, the IRS and my bank do not have the technology to recognize gift cards or hot sauce as income. While your business may accept trade, I unfortunately cannot. Thank you for your understanding. If you don’t get it, check out this awesome CreativeMornings San Francisco.

Fun fact: Accepting payments to personal accounts is considered piercing the corporate veil. As a registered LLC, I cannot accept payments via PayPal, Venmo, or CashApp.

  • I do! Please check out my calendar booking link here: https://calendly.com/dodgeashley/

We can also scope out projects, websites, or monthly retainers.

  • I love non-profits and offer reduced pricing on my rates when using my calendar booking tool or within an existing retainer. This is ONLY for organizations with or pursuing 501c3 status.
