Most of the people I work with are referrals so I rarely have to explain things such as expectations, refunds, and communication. However, this page has not only benefitted the people I work with but those in my network navigating the challenges of freelance work.

Expectations

Things I can do include:

• Edit web copy, update and curate images, responsive formatting for desktop/tablets/mobile, and general web design for an hourly or project based fee

• Consult on ways to make the most of your online presence including setting up an email, newsletter, blog, Instagram, Facebook, Yelp, and Google Business listing

• Assist in reputation management and sharing testimonials and reviews as social proof

Payments

I require half or all payments made upfront to get started after an initial meeting. This prevents that awkward nagging. Unfortunately, I no longer work for trade no matter how awesome your business is. I will believe in you and support your endeavors but I also ask that you respect that I am a professional that pays taxes, rent, and bills just like anyone else.

Communication

As a rule, I try to do the following:

• Encourage the use of my calendar to ensure someone selects the time that works best for them

• Send a recap email of what was accomplished and what each party has as homework including what one may need for the other party to fulfill their obligations.
